Here is the touching scene from the Oscar-winning Wings (1927) featuring one of the first, if not the earliest surviving, on-screen same-sex kisses in film history. I've set this scene to the track The Gift of Mortality from the soundtrack to Bicentennial Man by James Horner. Enjoy!
[From YouTube; www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTPsFIsxM3w] I'm usually not into this, but if a certain American TV station that bears my name (Vos=Fox) starts bashing Amsterdam (not even my favorite city) with their facts all tangled up (which is not a first) they finally crossed a line that I hold sacred.
I am not a complete soft drugs liberal, I have however build my opinion on experience and facts at the source. FOX, and in my humble opinion not for the first time, tells a story unworthy of a news station.
And yes, perhaps all staticians are liars (www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/node/67), and yes, even I feel we have too many, so called, coffee shops in The Netherlands, but I still think that in the context of the shared value system of The Netherlands the policy to discriminate between hard and soft drugs works (at least for us).
At least dear Margaret aknowledges the fact that EVEN when we smoke grass we have the presence of mind to teach our children to have SAFE sex. How naive of us...
For me it's the good old BBC that tells the most objective story, although that might even be in the eyes of this fallable beholder...
I know it sounds weird but this is the thing. Me and and some friends are going to a friends house next week and me and this girl are probably gonna end up having sex... How do I make it unobvious were not going upstairs to have sex in his bed? And how can I stop my friends coming in? Its a blurred glass door and it doesnt have a lock?

Sonic Spiel 31. My Sonic RoomCorporate Ghost finds Sonic Youth embracing the music-video format in a big and exciting way with the 1990 release of their hit album, Goo. The band produced a video for each of Goo's 11 tracks, and that collection forms the first half of this stylistically eclectic anthology. Sonic Youth's enthusiasm also drew significant filmmaking talent: Dave Markey (1991: The Year Punk Broke) directs the witty, histrionic "Mildred Pierce," which looks like a 1940s experimental biography of Joan Crawford. Far from Heaven's Todd Haynes makes a fascinating fever dream of "Disappearer," telegraphing angst about the difference between public and private identity. Tamra Davis (Guncrazy) delivers both the MTV-accessible "Dirty Boots" as well as the deliriously sexy "Kool Thing." Later videos include the fashion show trappings of "Sugar Kane," the mesmerizing duet between bassist-singer Kim Gordon and guest Kim Deal on "Little Trouble Girl," and a grabby, time-manipulated video for "Sunday" by Harmony Korine (Gummo). --Tom Keogh

How to Become Smarter
This book describes techniques for improving mental abilities and some of the things that this book can help you to achieve include:
⢠Depending on circumstances, use different lifestyles that improve one or another mental function. ⢠Experience euphoria without drugs and come up with new ideas, when needed. ⢠Slow down and prevent yourself from making rash, impulsive decisions, when necessary. ⢠Sharpen your wit, become more talkative, and entertain people. ⢠When necessary, lower your mood and increase emotional tension, which can help to reduce procrastination. ⢠Increase your score on intelligence tests or on general aptitude tests. ⢠Concentrate on reading and writing for many hours daily. ⢠Increase your grade point average if you are a student or improve your job productivity if you are a knowledge worker. ⢠Get along with people and live without arguments and conflicts.
The proposed methods are brief cooling or heating of the body (water therapy) and three different âsmart diets,â each suitable for a different type of tasks. The text also describes a âdepressant diet,â which is not a smart diet, but can help to slow down and improve self-control and sleep. The strict diets do not have to be used on a permanent basis and the conventional food pyramid is recommended most of the time. Several useful social skills and studying/writing techniques are also discussed. Most authors in this field will tell you that you should read more books, solve mental puzzles, buy their nutritional supplements, sleep well, exercise, etc., in order to get smarter. In contrast, this book is proposing moderately cold hydrotherapy and a smart diet (which involves avoiding all dietary supplements). To give you another example, most books on anger management are saying that you should try to change your thinking in order to overcome anger, while this book is suggesting hot hydrotherapy and exclusion of certain foods from your diet. The main focus of discussion in this text is on changing the biological workings of the brain, not on pop psychology. Particularly, the book describes various combinations of diets and hydrotherapy that have the following effects: sedative/sleep-promoting, stimulant/wakefulness-promoting, attention-enhancing, antianxiety, antidepressant, mood-stabilizing (mood-lowering), and euphoriant. Additionally, existing scientific evidence of pain-reducing, fever-reducing, anti-fatigue, immunostimulatory, anti-nausea, and anti-inflammatory effects of hydrotherapy is also presented. The possible side effects of the diets and hydrotherapy are discussed as well. Despite its technical content, the book is written in an accessible language and there is an informative summary for each chapter and a list of key points at the end of each section. Most of the claims in the bulleted list above are supported by theoretical evidence and the author's personal experience (a healthy subject). About one half of these claims are directly supported by previously published scientific studies, including the claim about intelligence tests. The authorâs academic transcripts and test scores have been documented and can be verified independently. You can read 10% of the book for free, directly in your browser, if you visit the web page of the paperback edition and click on "Read first chapter FREE" (this feature works in the majority of popular web browsers).
