Ex girlfriend is seeing man on sex offender list. What should I do?

My ex-girlfriend left me while I was deployed in Iraq for a man on the Missouri sex offender list. We had a child together. I told her if she wanted to be with him I was going after custody of my son. She said they broke up, but she asked me the other day if he could come back in to her life. She told me she has the whole story from the girl that said he sexually abused her and told her it was her grandfather not this man. The man in question is still on the list. I want to go after my son, but don't want to let on that I'm doing this. I'm afraid she will take off with him. I'm thinking of hiring a private investigator. I need to get some evidence that he is still around my kid before I go after full custody and her rights. Please help!

yeah, you're doing the right thing (going after custody). Are you already involved/visiting/paying child support for your son? The courts will consider the last time you paid, visited, called, attended a BD party, home life, STABILITY, etc.. for custody matters. Find a good, female attorney (mother-type) who knows all about protecting innocent children and if you're not actively visiting, I suggest you do so. If not, you're gonna have to wait things out until you can get to that point because it's a "one shot" type of thing...
